Job Description
Under direct supervision, responsible for translating demand plans into supply plans.
Support demand planning by ensuring strong in-stock and service level through maintaining inventory levels, safety stock parameters, and lead times for component or finished good inventory.
Responsible for working with internal and external partners to translate supply plan into purchase order/work order workload.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinate and follow-up with suppliers, operations and warehousing regarding late orders, material outages, and/or special projects.
Manage purchase order/work order size based on service commitments, existing inventory on hand, and lead times.
Manage lead times to drive operational efficiency and improve service.
Communicate and escalate to team members when potential supply issues arise.
Create ad hoc reports to assist in identifying potential issues.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Mathematics, Applied Statistics, or related field.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Excel (for example: using SUM function, setting borders, setting column width, inserting charts, using text wrap, sorting, setting headers and footers and/or print scaling).
Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Access (for example: designing and creating simple queries, modifying data types, adding dates, working with required fields and/or creating labels).
PREFERRED JOB REQUIREMENTS
Certification / Licensure
APICS certification.
Work Experience
At least 1 year of experience in operations and/or supply chain.
Experience analyzing and reporting data in order to identify issues, trends, or exceptions to drive improvement of results and find solutions.
Experience interpreting and communicating results of analysis to various audiences.
Experience taking the steps to ensure the assignment/ project is accomplished within tight timeframes.
Experience processing all relevant details, understanding and prioritizing their importance and drawing clear and concise conclusions.
