WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:

  • Maintain and improve customer service by preparing and analyzing system-generated demand; apply logic pertaining to vendor performance, cost data and transmit times to determine quantity of finished goods to be ordered

  • Monitor vendor performance and take corrective action to positively affect delivery, lead time and quality; complete vendor evaluations and maintain reports on vendor performance

  • Complete necessary data entry/records to purchase product from first- and second-tier suppliers; assist in the reconciliation of vendor-related issues and develop action plans for underperforming vendors

  • Track the delivery of finished goods and expedite as required to minimize production delays and backorders

  • Provide delivery information to Customer Care as needed

  • Establish, maintain, and update system files/records i.e., lead times, supplier price tables, vendor cross reference part numbers, etc.

YOU HAVE:

  • BS/BA degree in supply chain management or operations management

  • 3+ years of purchasing/materials/production planning experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Knowledge of ERP and related systems; JD Edwards experience a plus

  • Knowledge of international shipping practices

  • Advanced level Excel skills

  • Ability to read and understand purchase orders, contracts, prints and specifications, drawings, BOMs, and understand measurements and tolerances
