$36.399 - $46.966 - $57.534The stated pay scale reflects the range that Sharp reasonably expects to pay for this position. What You Will Do
The EEG Technologist shall perform neurology procedures and provide the technical knowledge, expertise and professional judgment required to support the mission and goal of Sharp HealthCare. Required Qualifications
- AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) - American Heart Association -REQUIRED
Preferred Qualifications
- Satisfactory completion of formal Neurodiagnostic training in an approved school and meet the requirements for registry by the R.EEG.T, ASST and ABRE.
- 1 Year Experience as a Neurodiagnostic Technologist in an acute care facility.
Other Qualification Requirements
- Certification by the American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic Technologists and/or Associates Degree in Electroneurodiagnostic Technology and/or completion of a certificate/diploma program from Electroencephalographic Technicians - Required
- Meets the requirements for registry by the NT.
Essential Functions
- Clinical competency
Assist in the diagnosis and monitoring of patients with neurological disorders. The disorders include: epilepsy, stroke, infectious diseases of the nervous system (encephalitis), degenerative diseases (Alzheimer's, Parkinson's), head trauma from accidents, brain tumors, endocrine disorders and brain death.
Verifying identity of patient.
Cleaning electrodes after each procedure
Following universal precautions for infection control.
Attending to patient needs appropriately.
Recognizing/responding to life -threatening situations.
Being certified to perform CPR.
Following laboratory protocols for sedation.
Complying with lab protocols for emergency and disaster situations.
Complying with hazardous material handling procedures.
Maintaining instrument/equipment in good working order.
Taking appropriate precautions to ensure electrical safety. - Department performance improvement
Independently identifies problems and takes appropriate actions in order to improve departmental operations and/or quality of care, which is implemented.
Maintains cleanliness and adequate stocking in both exam and work areas.
Demonstrates flexibility and is responsive to department needs as evidenced by working additional hours when requested. - Patient care
Practice Standards: 100% accuracy in checking patient name band, physician orders and pregnancy status.
Patient Care Knowledge Evaluation: 100% score on patient care Quiz. - Patient Safety
Ensures safe environment by evaluating patient fall risk.
Maintains patient medical devices (IV's, catheters, tubes, monitors, oxygen, etc).
Utilizes proper patient transfer devices when appropriate.
Follows appropriate patient care guidelines in emergency situations. - General Safety
Submits completed safety test by scheduled deadline with 100% score.
Documentation of TB test and CPR certification by scheduled deadline.
Practices proper body mechanics 100% of the time.
Reports and corrects observed safety hazards immediately.
Reports any work related injury immediately.
Adheres to universal precautions. - Professional responsibilities
Attend required meetings and inservices.
Wears nametag at all times while on duty.
Completes time card accurately and submits on time.
Presents professional image through compliance with dress code and appearance policy.
Maintains and submits copies of current certification/licensure.
Submits paperwork for annual performance appraisal/peer review by deadline.

- Knowledge of Neurodiagnostic procedures and various equipment.
- Ability to perform various Neurodiagnostic exams.
