As our Electric Automation Instrumentation Technician you will provide the plant with well-maintained production equipment at all times by performing repairs and preventative maintenance on automation instrumentation equipment.
Position Related Duties and Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose problems when machinery malfunctions, conduct electrical repairs (i.e., wiring), complete work orders, monitor production equipment.
- Maintain all the Process Control systems, calibrate all critical control equipment and documents finding, evaluate PLC equipment, program and integrate the PLC systems. Program and integrate the Automation systems.
- Set up and implement preventive maintenance procedure for process control systems (PLC, Identify areas to be improved in the process systems makes recommendations and implement approved changes)
- Backup SCADA, wastewater, PLC and variable frequency drive systems. Order Allen-Bradley parts.
- Train Maintenance personnel (PLC and Electronic equipment). Complete calibration, project and equipment status reports
- Work closely with the contractors on new electrical and electronic installations.
- Provide technical expertise on project teams.
- Perform other job related duties as assigned.

Education and Eligibility Requirements
- Electrical and mechanical training for industrial environment and 2 to 3 years of experience.
- Ability to communicate and comprehend specifics regarding equipment problems.
- Computer skills for ordering parts and troubleshooting.
- Ability to read, write and comprehend equipment manuals, safety regulations, and operating instructions.
- Ability to complete necessary reports.
Will be required to take and pass Ramsay Mechanical Assessment test.
- Additional trade courses are preferred.
- Strong electrical and mechanical aptitude.
- Must be able to climb, bend, reach and move heavy items (up to 50 lbs.).
- Body agility (occasional climbing, kneeling, reaching).
- Walking and standing on plant production floor for extended periods of time.
Technical Skills
- Ability to read blueprints and drawings
- Knowledge of a variety of hand, power, and machine tools.
