Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Financial Analyst to join our Development, Engineering and Construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating and maintaining financial models, running scenario and comparative analyses, interpreting results, and communicating findings and recommendations to support a variety of business decisions from project inception through commencement of operation.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain comprehensive financial models to evaluate future performance and scenario risk of energy-related development opportunities.
- Work closely with other internal departments and third parties to gather necessary data and ensure that all modeling assumptions and mechanics are reasonable and accurate.
- Evaluate projected cash flow, financial performance and impacts to key financial metrics under different scenarios.
- Communicate findings and make recommendation on a planned course of action.
- Analyze financing packages and support the due diligence and closing of project debt issuances.
- Where appropriate, interface with financial institutions and credit agencies.
- Support corporate budgeting and forecasting efforts as required.
- Perform industry research and studies as required.
- Support and participate in NRG's Safety Programs
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or closely related field.
- Five (5) years of professional experience as a financial analyst or similar role.
- Valid Driver's License
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree preferred.
- Energy industry experience strongly desired.
- Experience utilizing Excel, SAP, FPR, Workforce, and Power BI, and other Office products.
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong understanding of business finance, accounting, tax and economic concepts.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and effectively.
- Ability to effectively communicate (verbal and written) at all levels of the organization.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills.
- Expert in using Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to read, write, and understand English.
- Demonstrated ability to work on significant and unique issues where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangibles.
- Ability to act independently to determine methods and procedures on new or special assignments.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and conflicting deadlines.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality with employee personnel, NRG, and customer information.
- Ability to establish and maintain a positive and professional working relationship with all individuals both internal and external.
Working Conditions
- Normal office environment and/or power plant environment
- On-site full-time position.
- This position will require off schedule hours when the need arises.
- Occasional travel will be required.
- Requires wearing personal protective safety equipment (safety glasses, hard hat, appropriate footwear, ear plugs, etc.) in designated areas as needed.
