Job Profile Summary

Capella University is an accredited online academic institution, known for its rigorous curricula that combine strong academic content, authentic assessment and real-world practicality. Its innovative approach has enabled a large population of learners to have access to affordable, quality higher education. Recognizing that people have different learning styles and needs, Capella offers two online-learning formats: FlexPath—enables learners to set deadlines and move at their own pace, and GuidedPath—offers extra structure for learners who desire it.

Currently, 53 undergraduate and graduate degree programs with more than one hundred specializations are offered at Capella University. More than 37,000 students were enrolled as of June 30, 2018, representing all 50 states and 54 countries. Although they range in age from 19 to 86, most Capella students are working adults, and about 70 percent are pursuing master or doctoral degrees. Since Capella University was founded in 1993, the university has conferred nearly 81,000 degrees and certificates.

Position Summary:

Ensure alignment of learning pathway projects and programs with regulations and Capella’s design philosophy. The Manager, Learning Pathways & Quality Assurance is a key role within Learning Pathways team. This role supports learning pathways operations through maintaining and developing Capella’s best practices to solve specific problems.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

● Ensure alignment of Learning Pathway projects and programs with regulations and Capella’s design philosophy.

● Manage the creation and execution of a plan to:

■ Support the growth of Learning Pathways, support innovation and technologies to improve learner experience & lower operational costs.

■ Support partnerships (e.g., Graduate Assisstant support, courseroom team, advising).

■ Collect, analyze and report on Learning Pathway performance metrics to key stakeholders.

■ Manage modality-specific IT projects with operational impacts.

■ Facilitate communication of decisions related to modalities across Capella and SEI leadership.

● Manages operations & data personnel.

● Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with academic leaders, academic support, and operations teams across the university.

Strategic Management & Development:

● Work closely with Learning Pathway team providing recommendations on short-term and long-term strategic plan.

Job Description

Work Experience:

• 2-3 years previous leadership experience.

• Prior project/program management experience preferred.

Education:

• Master’s degree required from an accredited institution

Other:

• Must be able to travel 10% of time.

• Must be able to lift 25 lbs.

• Typical office setting.

• Mobility within the office including movement from floor to floor.

• Travel via plane, car, and metro may be required to perform this job.

• Must be able to work more than 40 hours per week when business needs warrant.

• Access information using a computer.

• Effectively communicate, both up and down the management chain.

• Effectively cope with stressful situations.

• Strong mental acuity.

• Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality are essential functions of this job.

• Other essential functions a

nd marginal job functions are subject to modifications.

    $82,800.00 - $124,200.00 - Salary
