8Summary:
This Physical Therapist will provide therapy services for chronically ill patients admitted to the hospital for lengthy stays and see additional outpatients for burn and wound care. Candidates must have the education, knowledge, and skills to provide in-patient services focusing on functional skills to enhance development, restore function, and to prevent disability from pediatric conditions, illness, and injury. Evaluation, treatment, and home programming are provided for children with burns and wounds, orthopedic injuries, brain injuries and neurological impairments, hematology and oncology disorders, musculoskeletal injuries or disorders, neuromuscular disorders, gross motor delays, and cardiopulmonary disorders. Work may also include evaluations for wheelchairs, walkers and other assistive devices. Will provide patient and caregiver education and consultation to other medical professionals, clinics, and agencies, both within Cook Childrens Health Care System and within the community. Documentation and correspondence pertaining to these services shall follow department and system policies.
Pay Rate: 51.50/hour
Hours: Flexible hours available. Employees can work 4, 8, or 10 hour shifts. With the ability to work up to 30 hours per week depending on available caseloads. Must also work one weekend day per month and one summer and winter holiday.
Qualifications:
Master's Degree required.
Pediatric and/or Developmental Experience preferred.
State license for physical therapy or eligible for licensure.
CPR - BLS within 30 days of employment required.
