Full Job Description

The Hanover College Department of Occupational Therapy invites applications for an innovative and visionary leader to serve as Program Director for our hybrid Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD) program set to begin July 1, 2025. This 12-month administrative position is open to individuals with a faculty rank of Associate or Professor and offers an exciting opportunity to shape and advance a program that combines the flexibility of online/remote education with the hands-on learning of in-person immersive lab experiences.

As Program Director, you will lead in areas of program administration, teaching, service, scholarship, professional development, and clinical practice. Our hybrid model provides a dynamic and engaging environment for faculty and students, fostering innovation, collaboration, and academic excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establishing and maintaining program accreditation from the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE); coordinating the program's compliance with all expected standards and regulations.
  • Developing and maintaining contemporary and evidence-based Doctor of Occupational Therapy curriculum that meets accreditation standards and achieves program goals and expected outcomes.
  • Provides leadership, vision, and strategic direction for the OTD Program.
  • Plans and administrates the OTD Program budget and financial resources to support current/anticipated program needs, including academic and experiential learning, faculty, facilities, and equipment needs.
  • Leads strategic planning activities for the OTD program.
  • Provides faculty and staff with mentorship and regular performance evaluations.
  • Serves on executive, planning, and standing committees as directed by the Associate Provost for Graduate Studies.
  • Represents the OTD Program to Hanover College, the community, and the profession of occupational therapy.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Earned terminal academic doctorate in a discipline appropriate for teaching responsibilities.
  • Senior faculty rank (Associate Professor or higher), with experience consistent with Hanover College system for designated faculty rank.
  • Understanding of higher education and contemporary clinical practice appropriate for leadership in occupational therapy education.
  • Knowledge of legislative, regulatory, legal, and practice issues affecting experiential learning, students, and the profession of occupational therapy.
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure in Indiana and the state of residence.
  • Active in clinical practice, especially as applicable to clinical education.
  • Active in professional activities at local, state, and/or national levels.
  • Demonstrate the ability to interact effectively with people from diverse backgrounds, including students, administration, faculty, and staff.
