JOB SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Head of Emerging Technologies, the Research and Software Development Intern be exposed and introduced to assorted software development frameworks including JavaScript, React, and SQL through online learning and opportunities for applied learning. The intern will also be assigned a research project to complete during the program. They will have an opportunity to work with a variety of team members to better learn and understand the practical application of technology in business settings. The internship is a 10-week program providing hands-on experience working with experienced team members. Come learn more about research and software development in an innovative environment.
Responsibilities:EXPERIENCES TO EXPECT:
- Learn the foundations of JavaScript and React through online course work.
- Shadow team members on varied technical topics including relational databases/SQL and cybersecurity.
- Practice and apply skills learned through projects.
- Assist team members on various internal projects to support the operations of the company.
- Complete the internship with a better understanding of working in a technology company and a professional office environment.
- Have direct supervision and mentorship with various team members at all levels of the organization.
- Practice presentation skills by developing and delivering a final presentation to select team members.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Freshman or higher college student in good standing
- Must be a Doyon Shareholder
Preferred Qualifications:
- Pursuing a degree or prior work experience within the following: MIS, Computer Science, Information Technology, Security
- 3.0 overall GPA
- Valid Driver's license, ready access to a registered vehicle and must be able to provide proof of state required insurance on registered vehicle
WORKING ENVIRONMENT: The majority of work for this role is performed in a home office and interacts with a wide variety of people with differing functions, personalities, and abilities. Telecommuters are expected to have sufficient home office space that appears neat, organized, and professional when on video meetings.
