Are you a writer with experience translating complex concepts (fixed index annuities, financial services products, etc.) into clear, concise, and compelling written content?
Do you know how to write at the level of a Financial Advisor, in a more technical tone? Do you understand interest rates and the yield curve and can you grasp it and turn it into something that differentiates our client's offerings? Do you have the ability to develop effective materials for both financial professionals and their clients (B2B and B2B2C)?
Our client, an insurance company, is looking for a Senior Financial Services Writer to join their in-house team 37 hours a week for at least 6 months but likely extending with the potential to convert to full-time eventually.
Candidates must be local to the Des Moines area and able to be on-site.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of writing experience
- Financial Services experience (annuities, life insurance, retirement, etc.) is required
- An understanding of FIAs is helpful or similar financial products (even writing on a 401k or 403b or any financial services product that is working through an advisor)
- A variety of writing samples in a portfolio (print, digital, B2B, B2C, etc.)
- Experience with Workfront is required since their entire workflow/production process is managed beginning to end in WF
- Ability to translate strategic ideas to verbal and written form
- Ability to use analytics to inform content strategy
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
Responsibilities
- Write, proof and edit campaign work and brochures (social content is handled by a different team)
- A lot of the work is product heavy (sales brochures, updates to product materials, etc.)
- At times there may be more proofreading vs. writing but the role will always be a mix
- Work cohesively with the other writers on the team (proofing and editing your own work + each other's work)
- Report into, and work alongside, the Creative Director (who reports to the Head of Marketing)
This position is with Creative360 (C360), Creative Circle's managed services division. C360 builds and manages creative and marketing project teams and dedicated studios on behalf of our clients. A C360 Engagement Lead will oversee the scope, deliverables, reporting, and operations support, so you can focus on the things you do best!
In this position, you may have access to client or customer systems, confidential and/or proprietary information or data, including financial information. This position is onsite and requires you to work closely with other individuals in a collaborative team environment.
