POSITION TITLE:  Technology Systems Administrator

LOCATION:   Wallenpaupack Area School District

POSITION SUMMARY:  Wallenpaupack Area School District is seeking a Technology Systems Administrator to join our team. The successful candidate will have expertise in SIS Management, knowledge of SQL, T-SQL, PL/SQL, queries, creation of object reports, data                                     protections, and be responsible for managing and maintaining the district's technology infrastructure, ensuring that all systems operate efficiently and securely. This role is crucial in supporting the educational mission of our schools by providing secure and reliable                                       technology services to students, teachers, and staff.

QUALIFICATIONS:   Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in system administration, preferably within an educational environment. Proficiency in operating systems (Windows, Linux), network management, virtualization technologies, and cloud services. Experience with educational technology SIS PowerSchool. Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, or similar. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and an end-user focused mindset. Ability to work collaboratively in a school environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:    Install, configure, and maintain servers, networks, and other IT infrastructure components within the school district. Regularly monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and perform necessary maintenance to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime. Implement and manage security measures to protect data, systems, and networks from potential threats, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and district policies and regulations. Develop and maintain backup and recovery procedures to ensure data security, integrity, and availability in case of system failures. Provide technical support to end-users, including teachers, staff, and students, resolving hardware and software issues promptly and effectively. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of system configurations, procedures, and policies. Plan and execute system upgrades and updates to keep technology infrastructure current and efficient. Work closely with other IT team members, school administrators, and departments to support various technology projects and initiatives.
