Northrop Grumman is currently seeking an experienced individual to lead the Growth for our Lifecycle Sustainment & Modernization Solution (LSMS) "Mako Warriors" Operating Unit (OU). Building on our successful sustainment solutions portfolio for high value legacy and Next-Gen platforms the individual will be responsible for accelerating new business opportunities. This position will be the OU business development lead empowered to grow defense, industry and intra-company opportunities. The selected candidate will be located on-site with our team in Oklahoma City, OK.
In this role, the selected candidate works with the business unit strategy and business development team cultivating and capturing operating unit level awards objectives. The successful candidate must be able to adapt at quickly understanding customer requirements, what is required to win, developing compelling value propositions, and preparing strong business cases. This requires close collaboration with all organizational leadership, technology, business management, contracts, global supply chain, human resources and other functional organizations to successfully execute the business acquisition process and deliver superior results.
Responsibilities:
• Ensure the Operating Unit (OU) portfolio aligns with strategic planning (all levels).
• Assist business management in developing the financial Long Range Strategic Planning (LRSP) & Annual Operating Plan (AOP) that fit the business portfolio and achieve financial objectives.
• Prepare annual NCTA requirements as part of the AOP plan and work with program leadership to coordinate LRSP NCTA requirements.
• Identifying new and adjacent market (arena) opportunities and customers through participation in symposiums, trade shows, and research of customer databases such as SAM.gov, GovWin, etc.
• Develop and present Interest / Gate 1 Reviews.
• Work with Capture and Program Management to develop and provide validation of the initial business case for opportunities.
• Lead early win strategy discussions for new opportunities and campaigns including clearly defined discriminating and differentiated value propositions, assessment of the competition, our execution concept of operations, position to win, solid business case and submittal of compliant and compelling proposals resulting in a superior win rate.
• Establishing engagement opportunities with customer influencers and decision makers to ascertain customer's primary challenges and most important requirements.
• Assist in any required Request for Information (RFI) responses as required
• Maintain on-going interactions with all stakeholders and functional organizations that provide input to an opportunity pursuit (eg: Conduct effective 360-degree customer engagement strategy).
• Ensure compliance customer Relationships Management (CRM) tools (e.g., Salesforce) while following the process standards of the Northrop Grumman Business Acquisition Process (BAP).
• Supporting program teams in the transition of proposal awards to successful program execution.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree with 10 years combined government and/or industry experience with relevant acquisition, strategy, business development and/or capture background or a master's degree with 8 years combined government and/or industry experience with relevant acquisition, strategy, business development and/or capture background.
• Existing relationships with DoD and industry stakeholders.
• Experience in business marketing/coordination and submission of responsive captures/proposals with an ability to build and lead teams with a vision for success.
• Demonstrated, effective communication skills, with the ability to inform, present, negotiate and problem solve with a wide range of people and leadership.
• A result driven attitude and a proven capability of working in a collaborative environment across distributed locations and organizations.
• Proven ability to work across organizational structures in a Tier 1 aerospace and defense company.
• Demonstrated experience with Multi-Year IDIQ contract vehicles and growing awards under the IDIQ vehicle.
• Must be able to work independently with limited supervision.
• The ability to travel, as needed, up to 25% of the time.
• U.S. citizenship required.
• Active Secret Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Master's degree.
• Program Management experience.
• Proven capture leadership skills leading capture teams, creating/managing capture budgets, managing schedules, developing win strategies, and overseeing PTW and technical solution development.
• Experience with international customers including FMS, Direct Commercial Sales, and/or international cooperation requirements.
• Working knowledge of the competitive marketplace including prime bid tendencies.
• Experience in aircraft sustainment and modernization field.
• Platform experience/knowledge in one of the following:
• Strike Aircraft: B-2, B-52 & B-1
• Large Aircraft: KC-135, C-17, E-3, E-6 and P-8
• Special Mission Aircraft: VC-25, C-32 and C-37
Salary Range: $139,100 - $208,700
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
