Key Responsibilities:
- New Product Process Support:
- Troubleshoot and adjust extrusion equipment for optimal performance during new product introductions, addressing equipment issues and material compatibility to ensure efficient production.
- Set up and calibrate equipment for new product runs, ensuring accurate adjustments to meet production requirements.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret process data to track performance, generate insights, and make data-driven recommendations for optimizing new product processes.
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to refine process parameters, optimize output, and minimize downtime for new product lines.
- Conduct root cause analysis to address recurring issues and process inefficiencies, with a focus on new product process improvements.
- Manage tooling changeovers and inspect tooling for wear, suggesting adjustments or replacements as needed to support efficient production.
- Document tooling conditions and ensure changeovers are aligned with process requirements for new product lines.
- Quality Control:
- Conduct routine material checks to verify quality and ensure new materials meet required specifications.
- Independently assess product quality, interpreting dimensional tolerances to verify compliance with specifications, especially during new product rollouts.
- Identify deviations, report findings, and support corrective actions in collaboration with the quality team.
- Technical Documentation:
- Draft and maintain updated documentation, such as SOPs, troubleshooting guides, and equipment logs, specifically for new product processes.
- Identify gaps in existing documentation, making recommendations to enhance process consistency and accuracy.
- Safety:
- Adhere to safety protocols, identify and mitigate hazards, and report safety concerns to maintain a safe work environment.
Key Qualifications:
- Technical Knowledge:
- Advanced skills in troubleshooting polymer process equipment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in troubleshooting and maintaining polymer process equipment.
- Quality Control:
- Understanding of quality control methods for building products, including inspection and testing procedures.
- Ability to independently verify product dimensions and ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Analytical Skills & Documentation:
- Strong documentation skills to support process consistency.
- Proficient in data analysis and interpretation to monitor process performance.
- Basic experience using data analysis tools (Excel, Minitab, or similar) to track trends and recommend improvements.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Direct experience in providing technical support in plastic extrusion (WPC, PVC, etc.)
- Experience in managing tooling changeovers and adjustments.
- Demonstrated ability in the use of precision tools
- Ability to read technical documents and engineering part drawings
- Basic knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or equivalent is advantageous.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic manufacturing environment.
Educational Requirements:
- Required: High School diploma or equivalent with relevant technical certifications.
